Penguins win in Hockey Town

Great series & a tense nail biter at the end. 2-0 in the 3rd. It was almost like watching the Canucks. The critical difference was the Penguins didn’t tank and held on for the win! 2-1

Crosby suffered a nasty hit along the bench in the 2nd and missed ½ the period but thankfully made it back for the 3rd. I’m happy for Matt Cooke (a former Canuck), Sid the Kid Crosby, and Mario Lemieux of course.

In the last couple of minutes of the 3rd there was a Detroit shot that went off the crossbar. Could have tied it up. Tense! Fleury backed up and gave the crossbar a couple of taps and a rub & thanked it for saving the game.

I love how the CBC, just after the win, doesn’t provide any commentary and just allowed us to listen to the crowd and the team. Most of the crowd were Detroit fans so it was a lot quieter than you’d expect – which allowed us to hear the raw emotions Penguin players.
